Protect Kids Like Gigs

About Greyson's Choice

Greyson's Choice was created to raise awareness about the risk of family domestic violence in all of its forms. It is a 501(c)(3), and our mission is to develop programs, education, and training for all parties involved in family court.

Through advocacy, public awareness, legislative reform, and the Grey Minds Think Ali.Ke podcast, we share resource information and meaningful conversations to help people navigate family court, relationships, parenting, mental health, loss, healing, and life’s challenges.

"If Greyson had a choice, he would have chosen to live a full, long, happy life. He would have chosen safety. He would be alive."

Our Founder

Ali Kessler

Greyson's Choice was founded by his mother, Ali Kessler, in memory of her sweet, vibrant, and fearless 4.5-year-old son Greyson "Gigs," who was murdered by his biological father in a murder-suicide during an unsupervised, court-approved visit.

Greyson's death was 100% preventable, but judges denied injunctions and restraining orders, citing insufficient evidence. But there was evidence. They just chose to ignore it, giving power to parents' rights first, not children's safety.

Tragically, Greyson's story is not unique. Each year, 58,000 children are court-ordered into the custody of a dangerous parent. More than half a million children are ordered to be with a parent who emotionally, physically, or sexually abuses them by family courts.

We honor Greyson's memory by working to ensure no other child should have the same fate as Gigs and no other family should be impacted by a similar tragedy.

Podcast + Educational Resources

Through the Grey Minds Think Ali.Ke. podcast, Greyson’s Choice shares expert perspectives, personal stories, and practical information for people navigating domestic violence, family court, high-conflict divorce, relationships, parenting, mental health, loss, healing, and everyday adversity. The podcast is intended to help listeners feel informed, supported, and less alone. It is an educational resource and does not provide legal, medical, or mental health advice.

Legislation + Family Court Reform

Greyson’s Choice advocates for laws and policies that place child safety at the center of custody and timesharing decisions. Our advocacy helped lead to the passage of Greyson’s Law in Florida in 2023, which strengthened how courts consider threats, domestic violence, and imminent danger. We continue to raise awareness and support reforms that better protect children and survivors.

Awareness + Community Advocacy

Greyson’s Choice builds awareness and community around child and family safety, family-court reform, and the challenges survivors and protective parents face. Through advocacy, media outreach, survivor stories, the podcast, and meaningful partnerships, we highlight the dangers of overlooking domestic violence, coercive control, credible threats, and post-separation abuse. Our goal is to help children and parents feel seen, ensure safety remains the priority, and remind people navigating adversity that they are not alone.
